During my time at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, I looked after the Japanese style garden. This garden was originally a goldwinning show garden at Chelsea Flower Show in 2001 designed by Professor Fukuhara, and showed 3 of the most distinct types of Japanese garden - the pond-and-hill garden, the dry garden and the tea garden. With training from the RHS, Kew Gardens and as part of my Master of Horticulture, I am confident in Niwaki pruning and the design and upkeep of a Japanese garden, and have experience using UK native plants in this style too.Â
